  • Notes
    • He ran the Lura farm until 1890 when he sold most of the land tothe County of Sandnes. He immigrated soon after to the United States of America together with his half-brother, Edward. He worked as a farm-boy in Minnesota, but he returned home in 1891in order tobring his family to the USA. But his wife refused togo with him. So together they tried to run a hostel in Sandnes, but it was not successful. They moved to the town Holmestrand(to the south of Olso) where they bought a farm (Lærum nodre).but things went badly, and in 1906 they emigrated to theUSA--The first group included John, Jorine, Emil and Karen. They departed in March. Their parents left in October together with Gustava, Erling and Olaf. Lars went later after he had married
