Cousins meet for the first time. Per and Henny Nygaard at Jens’ home for the reunion.
Dinner at Odd’s home in Oslo. Pictured are Bobbie, Odd Nilsen, Margarete, Jens Rønneberg and his wife Anna.
Nina, Jens’ sister, describes something to Bobbie. Jens and Anna hosted a mini-reunion at their home in Oslo.
Jens, in his Hawaiian shirt, is explaining a reference from a book he had relating to the family.
Here we are eating supper in Henny’s kitchen. Supper is a light snack later in the evening usually consisting of cheese, meats and crackers.
This picture is for you Dave Heidemann. These two Norsk rifles are hanging in Jen’s dinning room. They date back to the 1800’s. Dave, you would love the antique shops here in Norge.
Per and Henny are standing by their MG. Per has restored in. On Saturday it was on display in Stavanger at a car show.
Cousin Sigmund and Bobbie visit at Jens’ home in Oslo. Sigmund drove his motorcycle down from Sandnes for the weekend.
Here is the grave marker of Christopher Rønneberg 1737-1824 and his wife Margethe 1736-1788. It is located at the site of the old Ulstein Krike (Ulstein Church), Heroy, More Og Romsdal. All that remains is the stone wall surrounding the grave yard.
This is the view from the Rønneberg farm in the area of the Norddal Fjord (Nordallsfjord in Sunnmøre County). Although we have yet to establish a connection to the families living here, the view from the farms was well worth the trip up the steep road. We called Terry og Jean from this spot to say good morning and describe the view. Check out the link to the Norddalsfjord Rønnebergs.
Bobbie on ice. Here Bobbie is finding out how cold and wet a glacier really feels.
A horsy ride is the same in any country. Here Uncle Sigmund is giving Kjetil a ride while his sister, Sigrid, waits her turn. This was taken at Arnfinn and Astrid’s home in Bergen.
Sigmund prepares dinner. He hosted a little reunion which marked two milestones, First his grandfather would have been 100 years old on 3 Juli 1998 and second, this was his first dinner party since redecorating. His mother was very pleased to finally have been invited to Sigmund’s home for dinner.
Bobbie wears her Rogaland bunad for the first time. A bunad is Norway’s traditional dress worn on special occasions.
Tor-Kristian, Sigmund’s father enjoys ice cream after dinner at the reunion.
Here is one of many foss (waterfall) found in Norway. There are so many that most don’t have names.
